From September 27th to September 28th, a team of the College of Engineering (COE) led by Prof. Huiling Duan, Dean of the College of Engineering, paid a visit to Nanchang City in Jiangxi Province, as an effort to jointly found Peking University Nanchang Innovation Research Institute.

On the morning of the 27th, the COE team met with the Nanchang side. Yun Yan, deputy secretary of the Nanchang Municipal Party Committee, talked about Nanchang’s ’s economic and social development.
He pointed out that in recent years, Nanchang has attached great importance to scientific and technological innovation, by strengthening cooperation with famous universities inside and outside the province, and by continuously improving ecological environment for innovation, aiming to establish a technological innovation system that is enterprise-focused, market-oriented, and combines production, education and research.
He believed that the cooperation with Peking University, one of the top universities in China, and its College of Engineering, which has strong advantages in the research of aerospace, new materials and advanced manufacturing, will generate fruitful results for both sides.
Prof. Huiling Duan introduced the achievements of COE in terms of scientific research innovation, talent training, and service to the society. She said that COE would like to conduct in-depth exchanges with Nanchang in scientific research and personnel training, and achieve multi-channel and comprehensive cooperation.
Prof. Ruqiang Zou, associate dean of COE, gave a detailed introduction to the college’s progress in technology transfer and entrepreneurship, before both parties had in-depth discussions and exchanges on cooperation issues of Peking University Nanchang Innovation Research Institute.
On the afternoon of the 27th and the morning of the 28th, the Peking University team visited key enterprises in Nanchang High-tech Zone.
