A delegation of seven leaders including Deputy Secretary General Ruiping Gao from the Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) visited the Department of Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology (AMN) on February 28, offering guidance on how to further develop the department.
The delegation was warmly received by Chief Hui Zhou of the Office of Scientific Research (OSR) of Peking University , Dean of Graduate School and College of Engineering Shiyi Chen, Vice Dean of COE Dongxiao Zhang, Professor Daining Fang, and Professor Shaoqiang Tang.

By attracting experts and talents from home and abroad, the AMN department has now developed an excellent team of advanced materials researchers with an excellent reputation. Their main research areas include nano-devices and nano-instruments, biomedical and biological materials, materials science and engineering and so on. Faculty members of the AMN department are currently conducting a number of state level projects. Their research has been recognized internationally and some of them are ready for industrial application.
After hearing the presentations made by AMN professors, NSFC leaders highly praised their achievements and offered advice on the selection of research subjects. They also gave constructive and important suggestions on how to further develop the whole department.
