    PKU Enjoys Visit from Lehigh University

  • The College of Engineering was pleased to receive three visitors from Lehigh University, USA on January 7.

    The three distinguished guests were Mohamed Said El-Aasser, vice president for International Affairs; Herman Frederick Nied, professor of Mechanical Engineering and mechanics; and Hsin-Chiao Daniel Ou-Yang, professor of Physics. They were warmly received by Shaoqiang Tang, associate dean for COE International Affairs and Graduate Studies; and Huai Yang, director of the COE Department of Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology.

    Over the years, COE has never ceased the attempt to promote international exchange and global cooperation with universities and colleges that have similar academic programs.

    As Associate Dean of the College of Engineering, Tang provided an overview of the college history, its faculty and students, academic programs, and research focus. In return, the guests  gave a presentation of Lehigh University and discussed with Tang and Yang about the viable collaboration areas between the two universities, specifically student exchange programs and collaborative academic research.
