Recently, Thomson Reuters released the World Highly Cited Researchers 2016. Prof. Shaojun Guo, working in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, College of Engineering, was selected among them. Following 2014 and 2015, Prof. Guo has been selected for three consecutive years.
Highly Cited Researchers 2016 represents the world’s most influential scientific minds. About three thousand researchers earned this distinction by writing the greatest number of reports officially designated by Essential Science Indicators as Highly Cited Papers —ranking among the Top 1% most cited for their subject field between 2004 and 2014 and earning them the mark of exceptional impact. Thus, the listings of Highly Cited Researchers feature authors whose published work in their specialty areas has consistently been judged by peers to be of particular significance and utility.
The 2016 world highly cited researcher list includes materials, chemistry, mathematics, engineering and other disciplines, with a total of 3266 people selected in the world, among which 196 are from China and 7 from Peking University.
Dr. Guo’s research interests are in engineering nanocrystals for catalysis, renewable energy, optoelectronics and biosensors. He has published ~200 SCI papers such as Science, Nat. Commun., JACS, Adv. Mater. and Chem. Soc. Rev. etc, related to Chemistry, Materials, Energy and Biology in international peer-reviewed journals, of which 40 are ESI Top 1% highly cited papers and 7 are ESI Top 0.1% hot papers.
