Research Profile

The overall objective of the research in experimental mechanics is to further the understanding of wave motion and vibration, and focuses on the damage detection and evaluation methods based on guided waves and vibration, actively manipulating methods of wave motion and vibration based on metamaterials & phononic crystals, and design of piezoelectric/piezoelectric semiconductor sensors to control guided wave propagation.
