Yongmao Pei, Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanics and Engineering Science, College of Engineering, was awarded the 15th China Mechanics Science and Technology Youth Award.
Recently, the College of Engineering alumnus Xiang Yang was selected the 2017 Andreas Acrivos Dissertation Award in Fluid Dynamics Recipient by the American Physical Society (APS).
The research progress entitled “The boundary-constraint method for constructing vortex-surface fields” was published in JOURNAL OF COMPUTATIONAL PHYSICS.
Over 210 selected high school students from nationwide attended the five-day program which was designed to give an excellent opportunity for high school students to know more about COE.

Prof. Jianjun Tao’s Group in the College of Engineering has cooperated with the Key Laboratory of Mechanics on Disaster and Environment in Western China and just published a letter on Physics of Fluids.
There were altogether 276 graduates this year, including 77 Bachelor Degrees obtainers, 116 Master Degrees obtainers and 83 Ph.D. graduates.
During the two-day tour, guided by Mr. Guojun Zhang, director of the Office of Zhengxing Group, the students got to know the three main business areas of Zhengxing Group- wheel production, education and medical care.
