Recently, Baxter International Inc. announced the Baxter China Young Investigator Awards of 2016. Xuanze Chen, a Ph.D. candidate in Prof. Peng Xi’s group, was selected as the first tier winner.
Baxter China Young Investigator Awards seek to stimulate and reward research applicable to the development of therapies and medical products that save and sustain patients' lives.
Xuanze Chen started his Ph.D. study in Department of Biomedical Engineering, College of Engineering in 2013. In the past three and half years, he focused on development of live-cell single-molecule methods, super-resolution fluorescence microscopy techniques, and applied these techniques to studying the dynamics of transcription factory.
During his Ph.D. studies, as first author, he has published 10 papers in SCI journals (IF > 85), such as Advanced Materials, ACS Nano. He wrote a book chapter in Super-Resolution Imaging in Biomedicine. He was invited to present his works in several international meetings, such as FOM, CHSA. His research achievement won Academic Top 10 Graduate Student in Peking University, Top 10 Academic Presentation in Peking University, Pacemaker to Merit Student, National Scholarship for Graduate Student (2015-2016), Peking University President Scholarship (2013-2017), etc.
In addition, in this year, he also won several national awards, including China Guanghua Foundation National Medical Prize, Jiaxi Lu National Outstanding Graduate Student, and National Key Achievement in Optics in 2015, etc.
