Fluid Mechanics, Experimental Fluid Mechanics

Research Profile

At present, Professor Cunbiao Lee’s current research interests include:

1.Boundary layer transition
2.Hypersonic instability
3.Turbulent boundary layer/shock wave interaction
4.Falling thin disc in water
5.Water /air interface
6.Density current

He has been pursuing a wide range of efforts on experimental research, including development of advanced facilities. He has once developed a 1m ×1m low turbulence wind tunnel in 2008. What is more, he designed a Mach 6 quiet hypersonic wind tunnel in 2010 and the facility is now working quite successfully (the non-uniformity of Mach number is no more than 0.3%). Even more important, he has also developed advanced experimental techniques such as DPIV measurements in the vicinity of the wall, six-dimensional measurements of free flying bodies in fluid etc.
