Applications are invited for appointments as a tenure-track associate professor/lecturer in the newly established Institute for Food & Bioresource Engineering in the College of Engineering beginning from May 2011 or as soon as possible thereafter. The appointment will initially be made on a three-year term basis. The appointee may be considered for tenure after satisfactory completion of a second three-year contract.
Applications are welcome from outstanding candidates with expertise in bioresource engineering, biochemical and molecular engineering, algal biotechnology, food biotechnology and food technology. Senior candidates should have a record of obtaining external grant support and junior candidates are expected to show strong potential for obtaining such funding. The appointee should establish an active research program, publish in top-tier journals, and contribute to both graduate and undergraduate supervision and instruction.
Applicants should indicate clearly which level they wish to be considered for. A highly competitive salary corresponding with qualifications and experience will be offered. Start-up funds may be provided.
