Center for Applied Physics and Technology (CAPT)

Established on December 23, 2007, the Center for Applied Physics and Technology represents a new model in China to bring together a renowned university and national key research institutions. The Center devotes itself to promoting cooperative research and to fostering young leading scientists.

The mission of CAPT includes:

  • To conduct fundamental research in applied fields, meeting the national demands for new technologies such as inertial confinement fusion, and large aircraft;
  • To explore cutting-edge scientific challenges, such as high energy density physics and astrophysics.

CAPT shall combine the usage of three poles for scientific research in the 21st century, namely, the theoretical, the experimental, and the high-performance computational tools to make substantial contributions to sciences, technologies and the society.
